Gluten Free Excellence *****

This is a Fabulous little café in a former bank building, complete with strong room. Lovely welcome on entry. Really good choice available for Gluten Free diets. Beautiful homemade scones served with butter and jam. We all had tea and it was lovely loose leaf tea. Highly recommend this place the food is all home made the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is chilled and relaxed. The premises are clean. If in Pickering this is the place to go around the corner and slightly up the hill from the steam train station.

My Favourite Pickering Coffee Shop *****

There are some really good coffee shops in Pickering. Klarneins is my favourite. A converted bank it’s quite utilitarian internally, but that affords space to sit with your pampered pooches and human family alike. The welcome and menu are warm and high quality. My Dad was amazed to find a choice of 4 different gluten free cakes, which all looked phenomenal (he recommends the date and oat slice…and the orange polenta cake). Brunch is a similarly tasty affair with good choices. Avo on sourdough is always a win and my Mum’s bacon roll looked amazing. Quality ingredients make the difference. Added to the delicious coffee with longer opening hours than most in the town and Klarneins is top of my coffee pops.

Breakfasts are served until 11am from Monday - Saturday, and until 2pm on Sundays.
